Hello! We are Moses, Laura, and our little daughter Malia.
With Malia's birth in July 2024, a very special time began for us, full of new experiences, small moments, and great emotions. As parents, we quickly realized how important soft, skin-friendly, and durable clothing is for babies, in which our daughter feels completely comfortable. At the same time, we love colors that bring warmth and joy into everyday life. This desire for lovingly designed and high-quality baby clothing led to the idea for Mingati.
When two worlds connect – Kenya & Germany
Our family unites German and Kenyan roots, and we wanted to make this special connection visible in our brand. In Nairobi, we met a group of women with impressive experience in knitting and crocheting, as well as a keen sense for colors and designs.
From the beginning, it was clear to us that we wanted to work together, on equal terms and with great respect for their skills and creativity. It was important to us to create a collaboration where their ideas are given space, their work is valued, and we can build something together.
The designs are created through mutual exchange and combine our ideas with the creativity and experience of the women. Each piece of clothing bears their personality and signature. Their work gives our products character and a piece of Kenyan zest for life. From this encounter, a close collaboration has grown, characterized by respect, trust, and genuine appreciation.

Handicraft takes time. And exactly this time is part of our quality. Small differences in craftsmanship are not by chance, but an expression of true handicraft. They make each piece unique.
